What is the LUMIXA Luminous Skin Facial

Enabled by a patented photo-converter gel that is activated by blue LED light, the LUMIXA Luminous Skin Facial is a unique multi-action treatment that repairs, regenerates and energises your skin. When the patented gel is excited by an LED machine, it produces Fluorescent Light Energy to generate a dynamic hyperpulsed spectrum containing all the wavelengths in a range from 415 to 650nm, working simultaneously on different layers of the skin to promote rejuvenation.

The LUMIXA Luminous Skin Facial takes LED facial treatments a big step further, effectively treating many skin concerns from inflammation and intrinsic signs of ageing. We offer two types of LUMIXA treatments at Aurra – LUMIXA Skin Normaliser and LUMIXA Age Control.

What is Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE)

While LED uses a single continuous light wavelength, FLE is a hyper-pulsed light that covers a wide spectrum of wavelengths at the same time and interacts with multiple layers of your skin at once. Using FLE, LUMIXA accelerates your LED that one step further, providing even better results.

FLE light penetrates different layers of the skin depending on its wavelength:

Blue light – reaches 1mm depth:
Targets bacteria and has anti-inflammatory effects

Green light – reaches 0.5mm – 2mm depth:
Targets fibroblasts and induces healing processes

Yellow light – reaches 1mm – 2mm depth:
Reduces redness, swelling and boosts circulation

Red light – reaches 1mm – 6mm depth:

This treatment effectively targets signs of Inflammageing, which refers to skin ageing due to inflammation of the skin. Inflammatory responses can damage the skin tissue resulting in skin dehydration, skin reactivity, and dull complexion. The LUMIXA Skin Normaliser is capable of reducing inflammation markers on human fibroblasts and epidermal keratinocytes by up to 80%, making it effective in modulating skin reactivity and stress, preventing/combating inflammation, and generating a revitalising and energising effect.

This treatment effectively targets intrinsic signs of skin ageing. The LUMIXA Age Control uses a new fluorescence for red LED enhanced firmness, youthful radiance and significant wrinkle reduction, making it a clinical breakthrough for timeless skin. Following exposure to red–yellow light emitted by the LED lamp, the patented photo-converter gel absorbs yellow–red light (590–650 nm) and re-emits a dynamic spectrum of hyperpulsed and polychromatic fluorescent light in the red and near-infrared spectra (600-800nm) during the treatment. This process activates fibroblast growth factors and various other important factors for skin rejuvenation.

While standard LED treatments use a single continuous light wavelength, Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE) emitted during the LUMIXA Luminous Skin Facial covers a wide spectrum of wavelengths at the same time. LED delivers a blue light, and FLE generates green, yellow and red. FLE interacts with different parts of the epidermis (top layer of the skin) and dermis (the skin underneath the epidermis) reducing the signs of inflammageing skin and correcting intrinsic signs of ageing. LUMIXA accelerates an LED treatment that even further, providing superior results.

No, LUMIXA is a non-destructive, pain-free treatment. The gel remains on the skin surface and is not absorbed into the skin. LUMIXA is non-photosensitising, so the treatment can be used all-year-round. During the treatment, you may feel tingling and warmth as the gel and light work together. Don’t worry; this is entirely normal.

There are very few side effects with LUMIXA. In sensitive skin, mild erythema may be observed due to the heat. Clients may experience bronzing of the skin and darkening of freckles and sunspots, which dissipates after the treatment course.

There is no downtime. The LUMIXA Luminous Skin Facial is suitable as a lunchtime procedure where you can head back to work after treatment.
